So the boy told him that he had to lick meal of a flag every morning and the same at night and that was all the food he would get. The father was in an awful state and he asked him why he did not tell him sooner and he said (the boy) that his stepmother told him she would kill him if he told but that now she was sick he knew she could not touch him. So after the doctor left the father went to her and told her that he had her found out and that she would have to leave the house. immediately and go to her own people that he could not bear to have her in the house after the way she treated his son He said he knew why his son was so pale. He said he was a fine healty child before she came so she would have to leave. So she
