- A shoemaker here years ago never went to school. When measuring people's feet for shoes he used a piece of twine called wax end. He put a knot for the length of the foot.
One day just for fun, some friends of his removed the knot to about two inches larger. He made a very large shoe, big enough for a giant.
One night the shoe was stolen and it as said that the fairies took it for the 'Old Woman That Lived In A Shoe'.- Collector
