    There is a memorial stone put up to show how the money was raised, and it reads as follows : -
    "The School House,
    was erected in the year 1836 by the Rev'd. Edward Reid at the expense of upwards of £200 which was principally raised from the accumulation of the interest of £330 bequeathed by the late Miss Sarah Gilkison of Tullybeg to the minister of the time being for the benefit of the poor of the Presbyterian Congregation of Ramelton aided by the voluntary contributions of the Congregation and donations of benevolent individuals.
