  1. There are many emblems, and objects of value in Cornacoola. For instance: Straw Ribons are worn on St. Stephen's Day, when people are going wren-boying. Palm is a religious emblem which is blessed on Palm Sunday morning, and given to the people at Mass on that day. When people take it home, they generally put a piece in every room and if they have any left, they put it in the byres and outhouses.
Eggs are eaten on Easter Sunday because generally people abstain from the during Lent, and they eat them on that day.
