They looked at him very closely and at last he disappeared.
Another night when they were coming home from town the same man appeared to them. They had an ass and cart with them. He stood out on the road and put up his hand to stop them. The man stopped the ass and when he did so the ghost disappeared. This man meets the same ghost at the same place every night when he is coming home from his travels. (no title)

One night a certain man was going home from his céilidhe. As he was going along the road he saw a black form coming towards him. He had a big blackthorn stick in his hand. He raised the stick to hit the black form but it disappeared.
He had raised his arm over his head to hit the ghost but when the ghost disappeared he found that he could not lower his arm. He had to hold his arm over his head with the stick in his hand till he came to his own house. This man was Hugh Gilheany, Currandally, Ballinamore who died about 1910 aged 73- Collector
