    It is very unlucky to meet a redhaired woman before sunrise.
    A rambling black cat is unlucky but [?] belonging to the house is lucky.
    A grey mouse means untimely death.
    A frog as a visitor is a sign of coming evil.
    A cock crowing a cock crowing a night is a forerunner [?] death.
    A sparrow at the window is unlucky.
    A sparrow at the door is for good.
    On New years day a black complexioned [?] make member of the family should first enter the house (after Mass)
    Money (silver) should be thrown through the doorway on that morning so that
