  1. One time a protestant man named Lawder invited Father Tom Maguire to dinner. There were several other guests there. There was one young man there, a nephew of Mr Lawder's who was more hostile towards the priest than the others. The dinner happened to be on Friday. There was meat for dinner, and meat was put before the priest too. The young man pulled out his revolder and said, he would have to eat the meat or otherwise take the contents of the revolder. The other gentry were not satisfied with the way the priest was treated.
    The priest asked for five minutes. He took out his Stole said some prayers over the meat,
