In this man's land there was a fairy rath. This man and his father were very particular about the fort, so much so, that they would not even cut a bush in it. One day in the reaping season the farmer had to go to Boyle and in his absence his cows were taken to the pound for rent and rates. His wife was very annoyed and did not know what to do until she thought of the fairy rath. Then she went over to the rath and said to fairies.
