Near here on the plain of Magh Sleacht stood Crom Cruac with his twelve less gods according to some authorities. this included the parishes of Drumreilly, Ballinamore, Carrigallen so there is a possibility that Crom Cruac may have been at Longstones Edentenny, and this was the opinion of Dr. Healy. Some authorities (claimed) that much gold and silver was used in the destruction of Crom himself the smaller gods been made of bronze, others that he was merely a large pillar stone with twelve smaller pillar stones around him.
    There existed a legend that a man named Tighearna and all all his followers were supernaturally killed while worshipping the idol. This god was worshipped the idol. This god was worshipped chiefly
