  1. My Local Landlord's name was Alexander Persy. He was a Landlord up to about 70 years ago. He was not one of the planters he was one of a family of West Indian merchants. He bought his property off one of the planter Landlord. He was a just man and a good employer of labourers. In the year 1847 he paid men to shore and subsoil the townland of Killadough and Aughatowney. His wife was an English woman with an income of one pound a day but she was able to spend it in one half-day. It was she,
