  1. It is said that Dooncaha bog contains many of the sacred vessels which the monks buried there on their flight from Lislaughtin Abbey.
    People here often speak of "Sheela Wee's" money and wish they could find it. It is supposed to be buried in a glen which runs from the Lower Road to the Shannon. Many have spent nights digging for it but they have always been frightened by some strange moanings they heard.
