- (continued from previous page)Dark clouds always precede rain. Bright stars and a clear moon are signs of frost. When the moon looks dull and low in the sky, or when she (half-moon) lies on her back, we may expect bad weather. The rainbow is even a sign of bad weather.
West wind brings us most rain. The South West and Westerly winds are the severest winds in wet broken weather. We get very heavy falls of rain, from the South and South East in broken weather.
