  1. There is an old Monastery near Ardfert and it was built by the Franciscans. Only the remains and graveyard are left now and it happened one night that a farmer took stones from the building for some purpose and that night a great storm arose around his house. Next morning he was surprised because the farmers told him that there had been no storm. The next night again he heard the storm and then he thought of the stones and in the middle of the night he harnessed the pony and carried the stones back to the Monastery. The next night he listened and there was no more storm.
