  1. In old times people who were sick were cured by herbs such as the Camomile and the dandelion. Camomile was used for stomach trouble. To cure a toothache certain use was made of a frog. To cure the "thrush" old people used to put a gander's bill into the child's mouth or give it any food left after a ferret. Many years ago there was an old lady Named Liza Downey who made ointments that cured many people. If a person licked a lizard his tongue is supposed to cure a burn or a sore.
