My name is Paddy Leary from a spot called Tipperary ¶ The land that gave me wealth, I am not scorning

    I
My name is Paddy Leary from a spot called Tipperary
The land that gave me wealth, I am not scorning.
But please God I'll be goin'
To the land the shamrocks grow in
And I'm off for Tipperary in the morning
    II
Oru my heart is beating wildly
Sure I cannot take it mildly,
For thinking of the spot where I was born in
There is an end to toil and sorrow
When I start for home to morrow
And I'm off for Tipperary in the morning.
    III
I'm not returning empty, for of money I've made plenty
Yet to Irishmen I'd like to give a warning,
That you'll find no joy in it,
When you leave your land to win it,
You'll be missing dear Old Ireland in the morning.
