  1. There was a man living there long ago. He was going walking to a house one night they hadnt any clocks to keep the time. So it was about twelve o'clock when he was going. As he was on his way home he met a big black dog with chains around his neck he followed the man to the house. The man went in he went to bed. They used to keep the hen's inside in the house long ago the hens and the cock were perched up in the rafters when the man went in.
    When the people got up in the morning the cock was dead in the floor and he was as black
