    Ann Clear

A fairy named Ann Clear is said to appear in Knockainey, Co. Limerick. The river Comogue, a tributary of the Shannon runs through this district, there was a very remarkably large stone in the river bearing the foot-print of Ann Clear, people were afraid to interfere with, or make any use of the the stone until about the year 1932 when it was removed. A new bridge was then built just a few yards north of the spot where the stone was.
This story was related by Miss Byrne a native of Knockainey who said she was often terrified as a child lest she should see Ann Clear standing on the big stone.
