There is an old story known in this parish. Once upon a time there was a highway (man) who was running before the soldiers. He came to a field where an old man was working and he told the old man to go to a certain tree and he would get as mucha as would put him out of the cold. The highway man was captured and the old man never went to get the money. The old man is dead now and he never told the exact place. This story is handed down from one to the other but the exact place was never found.
