In former times there were clogs made locally. They were made about twenty years ago. Men used to come to Belhavel making them. These clogs were made of wood and leather. The soles were made of pieces of alder trees, and the upper parts were made of leather. Clogs are not worn now.
The water that washed the feet was thrown out, far away from the house, for fear it would rise any diseases. This is an old proverb shoes in the cradle and none when able.
