  1. There are two black smiths in the village namely Mr. Finucane and Mr. Reardon. Mr. Finucane's father was a smith long ago. His forge is situated at the southern end of the village near a river and the main road to Listowell from Limerick.
    Mr. Finucane's forge is slated. It has a big black door opened in the middle, two big open fire places and a bellows near the fire. This bellows came from Germany
