John Drudrum who lived at Staleen, was a breadman. He used to drive a bread-cart down Staleen Road. One day he was thrown from the bread-cart and killed instantly. It is said that there is a ghost at the pool every night.

Gerard Victory (Szoláire) - The "Curly Hole" is a very deep and treacherous part of the Boyne about half a mile up from the Obelisk.
