   This is a fable that they ushed ta tell us ta make us laugh when we were childre. There was a great King at wan time, an' he had all the riches an' grandeur that ever a king could have, an' he had a beautiful daughter that he was very fond o'. But that daughter even though she was very beautiful itsel, was the cause o' great anxiety to him, for nothin could make her laugh. Every plan that ever could be thought o' was thried, an' docthors war called in, ta thry if they could cure her, but it was all to no effect, nowan could make the princess laugh. The king was in a terrible fix, so he called his wize men together, an' the plan that they decided ta adopt, at the end o' their conference was:- That the man who succeeded in makin' the princess laugh, was ta have her hand in marriage, an' the competition was open to everywan. Several princes came to the Palace, but none o' them could succeed in doin' anything amusin
