  1. St Finbarr is the local patron Saint. His feast day is on the twenty fifth of September. It is always kept as a parish holiday. The Parish Church in Drimoleague is also named after him "St Finbarr's Church" and the new Cemetry is also dedicated to his memory.
    Long ago there was a fair held in a field north of the village called "Paircín Roger" One day as the Saint was passing on his way to Gougane he passed through the fair and the people said that they would hold a fair there on that date each year in his memory.
