- Forges generally have slated roofs on them as it is very dangerous to have a thatched roof on a forge, because when there is a big fire lit the thatched roof is in danger of burning. There are two forges in our district, Mr. Sloan's, and Mr. Corrigan's, and none of the doors are horse-shoe shaped but they are wide and square.
The man who works in the forge is called a blacksmith. He is a very strong man because he never stops beating the anvil all day long and therefore(continues on next page)- Collector
