  1. Toome is the place about here that is most frequented by the tinker tribe. The tinkers always put up their tent beside a bog because turf is beside them and also near a house to get whatever they want and near water and under the shade of a high wall. They make tin cans, tin mugs, tin porringers, and they very seldom visit us.

    There was an old pedlar who used to come to our house. He had a big wooden case with prayer books, rosary beads, pictures, also hair combs, hair clasps, collar studs, cuff links, hair pins, tie pins, needles, thimbles, camphor balls
