    After they had gone he helped his grandfather with wooden blocks for he was a picture-frame maker. He carved and decorated them with beautiful mountain flowors and he sold them in the big cities thus earning money for a living. Franz kept on wondering what his mother would send him, when at last a big parcel arrived and he was full of excitement. In the parcel was a blue velvet jacket trimmed with braid and fassened with glittering buttons such as the boys in town wore. In one of the pockets he found a new knife.
