Drink would be given around and the people of the house would have to give them anything they asked.
On May morning may-flowers are thrown outside the door. It is also said that if a person washed his face with the dew he would be as fair as the flowers of May.
On St. John's night bonfires are lighted in every villiage in honour of St. John. A bonfire is lit and people gather and say prayers round it. They go around it seven times and throw in seven pebbles. For every pebble they throw in they say an Our Father and a Hail Mary.
