    the butter is taken out.
    The butter is taken out in a round wooden baisin. It is washed first then salt is mixed with it. It is then made into a nice roll.
    There are lots of fairy stories connected with churning. Long ago people could take away butter by majic power. If a person came into a house while churning was going on, he would have to take his turn at the churning. This rule was carried on in Ireland for fear some person would take away the butter.
