- Some years ago Pat Walsh of Leitreen had no horse for ploughing. One day he saw a water horse at Leitreen lake. He went down to him and put the bridle on him and rode him up to his own house. Then he started ploughing. The water- h did a great bit of work for him. So when the dark came he put him into his barn. The water was very quiet but he was awful for biting. Pat Walsh himself said that he was bay in colour and he said the size of him was about the size of a horse-foal.
The next day early in the morning he went down to the lake with him for a drink. When the water horse came in sight of the lake he got into a gallop with Pat Walsh on him. When Pat Walsh saw that(continues on next page)- Collector
