    a weeks digging in the snow smothered and dead with hunger.
    A great deal of sheep were also got dead after the snow.
    People who were coming home from twon the evening of the snow were not able to make their way home and were found dead in the snow.
    Carts as well as the few lorries and motors of those days got stuck in the snow and the people had great difficulty digging round them to get them out.
    At last the County Council paid men to clear all the snow off all the roads in the county.
