  1. Long ago the cure the people had for a stonebruise was brown soap and sugar. They would mix the both together until they would have it in a paste. Then they would put it on the stone-bruise. The cure the people had for heart trouble was Bellar, that was got in the drain.Those affected would eat it and after a while they would be cured. It is lately called water-cress. The cure long ago for a cut was cobwebs that were usually got in the byre. To stop a bleeding nose long ago was to put a piece of dry fog to the nose. There was a disease long ago called "The Rose". It
