- Many of the old customs and pastimes are dead and gone but still in my locality the old customs live on. There were many pastimes long ago such as the bird creel, the top, the gun, and playing tricks at wakes.
The bird creel is made of sally rods. They will get eight strong rods, divide them into twos. Then tie each two rods with a little cord. Then they would get short sally rods and twist them in and out between each two. Another pastime was playing hurley on "Tulley Humber" holm. Many(continues on next page)- Collector
