  1. As well as our present time our fore-fathers had toys. They made all their own toys which were water-pistols, slings, tops, duls and (bur) elderberry guns. The elderberry guns are very well made. At first they cut a bit of the tree about a foot long and cuts out the heart of it. They then cut out a little hole in the middle and puts a spring of a clock into it. They pull back the spring and puts a little stone in before the spring. Then they pull on the spring and the stone (spits) skits. They sling is the most dangerous
