  1. On the 22nd of November 1896 clouds of rain overshadowed the earth and at "eve" the thunder rolled and the lightning flashed and the rain fell in torrents. But that was not it all. The wind rose and in an instant nothing could be heard only the rattling of buckets and basins out about the street. Hay stacks were lifted and left sitting on new styles. A man was out foddering his cows and the a gust of wind came. He jumped up on a trampcock and just at that minute the tramp-cock was lifted clean off the ground and the man and the hay were left sitting on new ground.
