    Long, long ago I remember being shut up in darkness under the surface of the earth. It was a cold dark place and the sun never shone on us. One day I was awakened by the murmur of voices and the clang of hammers. They grew more & more distinct and at last I was hacked up with thousands more like myself. I was whisked into a truck & taken to a factory.
