    the days lengthen & the nights shorten. The corn is ripening in the fields and white, pink and purple blossoms appear on the potato stalks. Raspberries are ripening in the lane & the yellow gooseberries weigh down the garden bushes.
    In Autumn the sun turns the green corn to gold. It ripens the blackberries in the hedges & from dawn to dusk the rattle of the reaper is to be heard in the meadows. The geese trot along through the stubble fields
