When people are putting down eggs they put eleven in a sitting because they say eleven is lucky.
When hen eggs are three weeks down the people take them up to test them. They get hot water and they put the eggs into it. There are birds in the eggs that will come to the top of the water and the eggs that wait in the botton are called "Glogars" and they are thrown away.
If thunder comes while they eggs are down it is said there will be no birds in them.
