    class used to go inside the desks then and do a composition. After that they would do arithmetic. They would be at that for a half-hour. Then they would be let out to lunch. After lunch when they would come in they would be taught agriculture for a half-hour. After that they would be taught Euclid and mensuration. It would take an hour to teach all that. Then the next subject was book-keeping and a half-hour was spent at that. After that parsing and geography between them took up an hour.
