    only get two shilling's for a two year old calf, and for a good springer you would only get about nine or ten pounds.
    They used to put red rags on their tails because they thought there was some luck in that. Even most of the people at home used to have red rags on the cows' tails. When Father Flately heard these piseógs about red rags he stopped it and after that no one put red rags on their cattle's tails.
    There were a lot of fights at fairs in those days. One day Tommie Sherdian of Ballygorman took notice of a few men's sticks. The men asked him what was he looking at and he said
