This is supposed to be a fairy abode – gentle bushes. Said to be fortified by McSwines in olden times and that it was captured by the English in the time of Niall Garr. It is in a commanding position.
Formerly look-out station attached to the Coast Guard Station and appears to have the remains of an old earthen fort, is situated in a very commanding position.
Beside the sea an old bridle path can still be traced here.
This hill in conical shape hence name round back or hill.
The name looks like Drum á Soirn but is pronounced locally Drum na Sorna.
Formerly famous for barely.
Rath + fort, no semblance of any sort of Dún now.
There is a tradition that during the penal days a priest was drowned here when trying to escape across the Bunlackey River.
Named after its shape.
In the distance looks speckled-rocks and furze and heather.
