    Lived harmoniously as could be
    Till an orange rector named Moriarty
    Became incumbent in Killaghtee
    A scion of perverts, a bigot upstart
    Stirred up bad feeling the parish through
    And formed a lodge of the loyal brethern
    And filled his hearers with spirit new
    A neighbouring barn was their first foundation,
    Newly roofed with tin if hearsays true
    But when funds grew stronger and sashes longer
    A brand new lodge up in Darney grew
    As the lodge grew older the brethren bolder
    And swore the papists one day would rue
    Their bold allegiance to Christs’ own Pontiff
    And epithets hurled at red, white, and blue
