  1. A man was quarrying in Ballyboes one day. When he went to bed that night, he heard hammering and on going out saw no one there. He went to bed again and the hammering started. He got up and went out and he saw no one. He went back and the same thing happened but he did not trouble himself anymore. When he got up in the morning there was a lovely cross standing up made of flags and the priest in those days read Mass round it. Someperson who was not wise threw a stone and broke the Cross, and the priest got it fixed up and a wall built round it.
    Carrickhath is a place in Derryart where the priests used to say mass.
    In Faugher there is a big rock in James Montgomery's land where priests used to say Mass.
