  1. There is an old saying that if a child is born on Whit Sunday he will kill himself or some other person. If a person gets his hair cut on Good Friday the say that he will not have a sore head for a year.
    Some people say that Saturday is an unlucky day to go to any place or into a new house. There is another old saying that if any person would cut a baby's nails before it is a year.

  2. Friday is considered an unlucky day for starting to build a new house.
    Monday and Tuesday are supposed to be the luckiest days for marrying.
    It is thought unlucky to go in to live in a new house during Lent.
    It is also thought unlucky to go to live in a new house on a Saturday. There is an old saying- "Saturday flitting - short sitting".
    Some people put great faith in the little rhyme concerning cutting your nails:-
