  2. The special time for marriages is the six weeks before Lent and the six weeks before Advent. The Candlemas bride and the June (bridl) bride are supposed to be very lucky. When a young couple were going to get married the bride asked her friends and the groom asked his, and the couple met on the road by appointment. When they got married they marched home in couples to the brides house and danced and enjoyed themselves until morning. The bride always got a dowry.

  3. In the olden time the people got married they used to march from the chapel into the nearest village in pairs and dance till night. When the would be (married) going home they would throw whiskey around
