    This is the rhyme you say when you are playing Grannie.
    Grannie, Grannie, let me out to play. We wont go near the water to chase the ducks away.
    The way you play Ice Pie is to run round the house and to try to get into the den. We play Marbles about the month of March. People play rhymes round the fire at night and this is one of the rhymes:-
    Onery, twoery, dickery, davy,
    Hollombone, crackabone, ninery navy,
    Dis come dan, Mary come round
    Humelty, jumelty, twenty nine.

  2. September is the month for the picking of the nuts. The people go to the wood and pick them and then dry them for Hallow Eve. The people hunt birds in winter time. They set girns along running water to catch snipe. A girn is made almost like a snare. Old school games were:- Scotch Hop, High Windows, Corners, See-Saw, Marbles, Skipping,
