  1. Patrick Mac Conway of Lecamy says that in former times people did not wear shoes until they were in the man age and girl age. He says there was one man he knew who never wore shoes at all. He also says that at one time there were tanning pits in Lecamy. Molly McLaughlin of Carrowmena says that in her father's time the people went barefoot to the fairs carrying their shoes under their arms and put them on when they were going into the town and took them off when they left the town to go home, to save
