  1. Once upon a time an Irishman went to Scotland to look for work. He got work with a farmer and one day they were cutting corn. He said to the farmer, "this scythe is very blunt." The farmer sharpened the scythe for him, and said, "It is so sharp now it would cut the corn itself." Then the farmer went into the house. The man left the scythe in the field and went up a tree. When the farmer came out again the man called to him. "Don't go near it, it's ready to start."
