    Come all ye true (and) brave Irish men,

    Come all you true and brave Irish men,
    Attend both young and old,
    I claim your kind attention,
    To those lines I do unfold,
    You all heard of Lord Leitrim,
    Who meet [met] a sad downfall,
    Near to the town of Milford,
    In the county Donegal.

    In some cases of eviction,
    His Lordship down did fall,
    Not thinking for a moment,
    It would prove his overthrow,
    Or that men would lie in Ambush,
    All for him there to wait,
    On which his clerk and driver,
    Met a untimely fate.

    It was the 2th October,
    At half past nine o'clock,
    When his car had come to Gortla wood,
    They got a fearful shock,
    Makim was nocked senseless,
