  1. Song

In sweet county Leitrim in dear old Ireland

    The Beauty of Gortnaskeagh
In sweet Country Leitrim in dear old Ireland
Where the country is so beautiful,
And the scenery is so grand
    But grander yet that any
    Which never will decay
Is the beauty of that lovely place
    Which we call Gortnaskeagh.
    II
The hills and plains are beautiful
    It plainful to be seen
The fields are decked with daisies
    And the river intervene
Where the throut and eel are sporting
    All in their colours gay
In the sunshine of the summer time
    In the streams of Gortnaskeagh.
    III
    The majestic Benbo mountain
    That elevated ground
    And from its lofty summits
You can view for miles around
You can view ten miles around you
