   The roads in Oughterard are called New Quay Road, Camp St. The Station road, The Connemara Road, and the Galway Road.

   Some people cross the river on stepping. There are stepping stones across the river up the Connemara road which leads to the Spring Well in the Plantation.

   There are a lot of roads round Oughterard. Some of them were made the time of the famine. There are two roads which lead to Glann, one is new but the other is old. The old one is shorter that the other, it also leads to " New Village". There is a road which leads to Cloosh and Sheanefeasteen. It was made the time of the famine. Men and women worked on it, every one got six-pence a day. A Fahy woman from Gortacarn was working on it.
